The FIRE Carrier Program, coordinated by The Aboriginal Catholic Ministry promotes reconciliation in Victorian Schools.
Fire is symbolic in the Aboriginal culture and as FIRE Carriers we are Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education.
Together with our cluster of schools, we share a covenant and commitment to the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. We recognise the sacred space and culture of Aboriginal people and their spiritual connections to the land and their beliefs. We aim to work together to help reconcile the wrongs that have been done in the past and build on our understanding of Indigenous culture for future generations. Selected students in the middle and senior school lead our community through celebrations and significant events on the calendar, such as NAIDOC week, Reconciliation Week and National Sorry Day.
